Her books have been translated into more than twenty languages. Scottoline was born in Philadelphia in 1950. She graduated from Boston University with a degree in English. She worked as a journalist before becoming a full-time writer in 1984. Scottoline’s novels are predominantly crime fiction, set in small towns and featuring strong female characters. Her books are often compared to those of Janet Evanovich. Scottoline has won several awards, including the Edgar Award, the Gold Medal for Fiction from the Crime Writers Association, and the Thriller Award from the Romantic Times Book Club. She has been nominated for the prestigious award for Best Novel four times. In 2018, Lisa Scottoline was inducted into the Philadelphia Hall of Fame.
